Sky Painting on Flickr.
On a whim I drove over to the beach last night. It has been awhile since I had heard the sound of the ocean and glanced across the endless waves. This was the last photo I took as the sun went down. So peaceful…

Winter Moon 2 on Flickr.
I like this shot I captured of the winter moon. It was apogee on this night; the point at which it is furthest away from the earth. Kind of ironic since it looks so huge in the blue evening sky. I am having fun with the new zoom lens that Santa gave me, the EF70-300mm.

A new diptych I just created for photography class, using two of my macro images of an Easter Lilly.

Nature on White on Flickr.
I love this image, just the simplicity and graphic quality that it captures. After I took this, I became a believer that nature can be beautiful even without sun.

This is one of my favorite new cats who showed up at the Purrfect Pals Shelter, in Bellevue Petsmart. He is a really sweet and lovable guy, who just wants to lay on your lap any chance he gets. After he recovers from an infection, he will be available for adoption.
See more of my photos from the Purrfect Pals cat shelter, by browsing a new book of cat photography for sale on Blurb; Purrfect Pals, The Cats We Love Vol.1. It is available in print and as a free ebook download.

Last class project; self-portraiture. I took this next to a window in natural light. A remembrance of my summer glow, before it fades.

Classmate’s portraits lit with daylight fluorescent soft boxes in the studio. I am liking the dramatic contrasts I can achieve with different light.

I turned out this selection of images from my second portraiture session working with live models. This lovely mother/ daughter duo were at Golden Gardens on 8/3/2013. They graciously allowed us to shoot images of them. There is something so timeless and remarkable about a bond between mother and child.

I like this photo of me taken by William Yeh, professional photographer. It was taken on 8/6/2013, at the SAM sculpture park around dusk. A remote flash was used behind my head to add back-light.

Nature’s first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf’s a flower, But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf, So Eden sank to grief. So dawn goes down to day, Nothing gold can stay. - by Robert Frost and from the movie The Outsiders, 1983.Johnny: “Stay gold, Ponyboy. Stay gold.”
